Week of rest


Did you know you are supposed to periodically give your body weeks of rest? I know that so many people don't like this because they find that when they stop or take some time off it is harder to jump back in and motivate themselves. The biggest reason is your body needs time to reduce inflammation, recuperate and heal from all the hard months of work  you have put in.

I am an avid runner so I try to plan one or two really big races a year. That way I have a start and stop date for my training. I know that when my last race of the season is done I need to take some time off and plan my next moves.
